A home was created for the magical creatures that inhabit the brand of the Door County, WI brewer. The taproom brings fresh new life to the former location of a barely recognizable smoky East Side dive bar. HBC’s brightly colored antlered armadillo mascot inspires eclectic finishes and textures throughout in wood, brick, wallpaper, and tile. Playfully upholstered serpentine banquettes and exposed concrete bar top wrap through the space. Connoisseurs sip beers with unique names like “Everything Eventually” and “It Just Does Weird Things” gathered around community tables made of thick slabs of doug fir and bullnosed alder. This is a place that you can walk into and be a world away from whatever is happening outside while watching it all pass by from drink rails perched in front of enormous accordion style windows. Hand painted signs and quirky neon from local craftspeople complete the thoughtful and hand-made charm.
