The Inn

Hartland, WI

Welcoming, Warm, and Steeped in History

Originally built in 1906 as a hotel along Watertown Plank Road in Hartland, the building that now houses The Inn has long stood as a local landmark. In the 1960s, it was transformed into the Hartland Inn—offering Swiss-inspired fare and becoming a beloved gathering place for generations.

Today, that legacy continues with a new chapter. Our clients envisioned breathing fresh life into this historic space—honoring its storied past while thoughtfully reimagining it for the present.

The heart of the vision was to create a space where guests would feel as though they were enjoying a refined yet comforting meal in a friend’s home. To achieve this, our design team focused on inviting materials and thoughtful details: plush, upholstered seating in curated fabrics and patterns, warm wood accents, and natural stone surfaces that add texture and soul. Elegant lighting casts a gentle glow, enhancing the ambiance and making every meal feel special.

To extend the sense of welcome, we reimagined the bar area as a seamless continuation of the dining space, maximizing its functionality without sacrificing charm. Spatial planning also embraced the energy of the kitchen—drawing guests into the rhythm of the restaurant and offering a glimpse into the craft and care behind every dish.

This project is a celebration of heritage, hospitality, and design that connects the past with the present in a space that feels timelessly inviting.
